A Soul Mate
But a true soul mate is a mirror,
the person who shows you everything that is holding you back,
the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.
A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet,
because they tear down your walls and smack you awake.
A soul mates purpose is to shake you up,
tear apart your ego a little bit,
show you your obstacles and addictions,
break your heart open so new light can get in,
make you so out of control that you have to transform your life…

A Prayer Request
I asked for strength that I might achieve
He made me weak that I might obey
I asked for health that I might do great things
instead He gave me grace that I might do better things
I asked for riches that I might be happy
He gave me poverty that I might be wise
I asked for power that I might have the praise of others
instead God gave me weakness that I might feel the need of God
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life
He gave me LIFE that I might enjoy ALL things
I received nothing that I asked for
He gave me ALL that I had hoped for
My prayers were answered and I am.. BLESSED

Pruning
I think God is a lot like that with me. He keeps what's alive but prunes me, clips off the dead pieces within me and keeps me healthy and strong. Even when it hurts to be pruned, it's still for my benefit.

Inside my bubble I call my world...
"I don't know the key to success
But the key to failure is
Trying to please everyone."
The Giving Tree
and she loved a little boy.
And everyday the boy would come
and he would gather her leaves
and make them into crowns
and play king of the forest.
He would climb up her trunk
and swing from her branches
and eat apples.
And they would play hide-and-go-seek.
And when he was tired,
he would sleep in her shade.
And the boy loved the tree....
very much.
And the tree was happy.
But time went by.
And the boy grew older.
And the tree was often alone.
Then one day the boy came to the tree
and the tree said, "Come, Boy, come and
climb up my trunk and swing from my
branches and eat apples and play in my
shade and be happy."
"I am too big to climb and play" said
the boy.
"I want to buy things and have fun.
I want some money?"
"I'm sorry," said the tree, "but I
have no money.
I have only leaves and apples.
Take my apples, Boy, and sell them in
the city. Then you will have money and
you will be happy."
And so the boy climbed up the
tree and gathered her apples
and carried them away.
And the tree was happy.
But the boy stayed away for a long time....
and the tree was sad.
And then one day the boy came back
and the tree shook with joy
and she said, "Come, Boy, climb up my trunk
and swing from my branches and be happy."
"I am too busy to climb trees," said the boy.
"I want a house to keep me warm," he said.
"I want a wife and I want children,
and so I need a house.
Can you give me a house ?"
" I have no house," said the tree.
"The forest is my house,
but you may cut off
my branches and build a
house. Then you will be happy."
And so the boy cut off her branches
and carried them away
to build his house.
And the tree was happy.
But the boy stayed away for a long time.
And when he came back,
the tree was so happy
she could hardly speak.
"Come, Boy," she whispered,
"come and play."
"I am too old and sad to play,"
said the boy.
"I want a boat that will
take me far away from here.
Can you give me a boat?"
"Cut down my trunk
and make a boat," said the tree.
"Then you can sail away...
and be happy."
And so the boy cut down her trunk
and made a boat and sailed away.
And the tree was happy
... but not really.
And after a long time
the boy came back again.
"I am sorry, Boy,"
said the tree," but I have nothing
left to give you -
My apples are gone."
"My teeth are too weak
for apples," said the boy.
"My branches are gone,"
said the tree. " You
cannot swing on them - "
"I am too old to swing
on branches," said the boy.
"My trunk is gone, " said the tree.
"You cannot climb - "
"I am too tired to climb" said the boy.
"I am sorry," sighed the tree.
"I wish that I could give you something....
but I have nothing left.
I am just an old stump.
I am sorry...."
"I don't need very much now," said the boy.
"just a quiet place to sit and rest.
I am very tired."
"Well," said the tree, straightening
herself up as much as she could,
"well, an old stump is good for sitting and resting
Come, Boy, sit down. Sit down and rest."
And the boy did.
And the tree was happy.

Why do I even bother looking back?
Why do I even care to care what my pasts are doing with their present.
Their present has nothing to do with mine.
And we are only strangers again.
Whether they are good or bad,
Dead or Alive, I'm just happy
We once were but no longer are.
And that's the par we've placed on one another.
My future has yet to come meet me
And my present is no where near where I want to be.
He just is, I just am. We just are.
Past, Present and Future.
Don't bother looking back.
You might miss something great
In that brief second
Of lookin back.
And plus,
It only hurts ... Your neck.

Very much at peace with myself
Cave Moments
This place is my sanctuary. I dwell my thoughts, ease my mind and calm a raging spirit. It comes spontaneously but sporadically. When I've lost, been taken away or inadequately matured from a previous lesson then I come back and regain the composure to play the same tune of life once again, hoping that the second time around would sound more in harmony than the first.
This time I'm different. I no longer feel the need to apologize for my disappearance or the need to feel ashamed that I'm not like the crowd. I embrace that I'm a bit odd and can become somewhat mentally unaware of reality. So I come into my cave to regain my composure and to decide on how I can go about the circumstances from here on out?
As of yet, I'm still caved in. Let me have a moment.

Continuing on
So as of yet, most things have been same old' except my age. Everything seems to stay the same except my age and the boys that roam thru my life. My brothers are growing up so fast. My dads settle down into his old age, altho I'm coming to believe he may be going thru a life crisis. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up rockin a tattoo in a Harley Davidson with a leather jacket. Haha. Lately he's been saying how much he wants to try bungee jumping, started a praise band at his church and is spending more quality time with me on the weekly. So It's almost like he's been embracing the lost time which has passed yet he's new and improved in the way he's even approaching life. It's respectable.
I'd like to think I've grown in that time span that's lapsed since my last serious post. I have to admit though, that the reason I've stopped writing all together, on my blog, notes, journals is because of my fear of facing my emotions, the feelings so buried deep within that so embarks me when the storm has calmed. Lately, I've been finding myself seeing a reflection of who I am thru the people I've been meeting. There's this one friend who has been a mirror for me to see how I am, by the things I say, and the actions that I portray. It's been heart wrenching but at the same time a revolutionary moment. Things I've always known and things I've never known about myself. I'm always down to improve and become a better version of myself than the version of who I am at the very present moment. I have come to embrace the pain within. The things that cripple me from being a fragrance of beauty and grace unto those around me. I'm always in defensive mode twds those I know can hurt me. So I use "punch-line" sarcasm that ends conversations. I don't know how to have a decent conversation in fear that I won't have control over what is being said! Man, talk about issues!
It's good that I'm being revealed such matters because before anything serious occurs I'm glad I can get to know more of myself. Change what can be changed and to tweak what needs to be replaced. This blog has seen me at my worst and my best. Spiritually, emotionally and mentally. It's amazing how life takes me on such journeys and yet I have nothing to worry about because all is taken care off. All I have to learn to do is to sit back and just relax, for Christ sake!
Continuing on....

Spiritual Surgery
"When you forgive someone, you slice away the wrong from the person who did it. You disengage that person from his hurtful act. You recreate him. At one moment you identify him ineradicably as the person who did you wrong. The next moment you change that identity. He is remade in your memory.
You think of him now not as the person who hurt you, but a person who needs you. You feel him now not as the person who alienated you, but as the person who belongs to you. Once you branded him as a person powerful in evil, but now you see him as a person weak in his needs. You recreated your past by recreating the person whose wrong made your past painful."

If you don't give up, you'll win.
We must not give up. This world is going to be trying and there are going to be days that are difficult. But we must keep holding on to our faith because if we do, we’ll see that God is going to turn it all around in the end. We must cling to that promise and trust that we will get to see the fruits of his victory when the time comes.
Until then, we must not give up.

Portrait of a Son (story)
There once lived a wealthy widower who shared a passion for collecting art with his son. Priceless works adorned the family estate.
Then the war came. The son enlisted, and after only a few weeks, the father’s worst fears were realized: his son was killed in action.
Months later the old man, still grieving, answered a knock on the door. "I was a friend of your son,” said the stranger at the door, “He was rescuing me when he died. I have something I want to give you." And he gave the father a portrait he had painted of the man’s son! It wasn’t a masterpiece, but precious nonetheless. The old man was overcome with emotion and gratitude.
When the old man died, his paintings were slated for auction. The event began with a painting that wasn’t on the docket—the painting of the man's son.
Bidding opened at $100. Silence. “Who cares about that painting?” someone cried, “Let's get to the good stuff." Voices clamored in agreement.
Finally, an elderly gentleman asked, "Will you take $10? That's all I have, but I knew the lad and would love to have the portrait." After more silence, the auctioneer said, "Going once, going twice. Gone."
Then to everyone’s surprise, the auctioneer closed the auction! Stunned disbelief filled the room. "What do you mean?” voices demanded, “There’s still millions of dollars of art here!"
The auctioneer replied, "It’s really quite simple. According to the will of the father, whoever takes his son gets it all.”
It’s the same with us . . . whoever takes the Son in faith receives all the Father’s benefits!

biblical servanthood
Faithful servants developed new skills to better serve.
Faithful servants did all they could to build the esteem and prestige of those they served; and this prestige, in turn, brought the servant prestige as well. He took great pride and honor in his role as a bondservant. And he, though perhaps wise in his own right, treated the thoughts and opinions of those he served as being as valuable as his own.
Faithful servants performed menial, thankless jobs in order to make room for those they served to exercise their gifts. The servant made allowances for the weaknesses of those he served as if they were his own. And in that way, he actively protected them from shame.
Lord, break me that I may be a faithful servant to those around me...

always with me [audio]
You bring me the light in me
That makes me follow you
But sometimes my arms can’t reach you
Cause I keep falling down and I don’t know what to do
I keep falling down and I don’t know what to do
But I know that you know what’s best for me
And as I’m crawling on the floor
You’re crawling with me
And as these mountains get higher
And I struggle with fire
I know that you’re always with me
My heart beat don’t beat without you
And every scar on my body tells me that I’m through
But who am I to live without you
Cause I keep falling down and I don’t know what to do
I keep falling down and I don’t know what to do
But I know that you know what’s best for me
And as I’m crawling on the floor
You’re crawling with me
And as these mountains get higher
And I struggle with fire
I know that you’re always with me
You lie with me where I’m caught in between
The green pastures and the waters deep
You restore my soul, you take me where I wanna be
And as I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I fear no evil cause you are my happiness
I know goodness and mercy will follow me
Cause I know that you know what's best for me...
