Fear..
1. a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined; the feeling or condition of being afraid.
I've been encountering many instances where I myself have been realizing that my fears have hindered me greatly from something great happening. Due to my fear taking over my whole being I was un-equipped to function as a normal human being. I felt crippled, so weak, unable to have any kind of confidence in myself that I was able to move on with life due to my fear. Fear in what? Oh, many things.. Fear of being hurt, fear of losing people, again, and again, and again.. The fear that so refuses to go away but lingers in the midst of the nook and crannies that don't show in my normal life but comes out JUST at the right time when I least expect it.. But it's weird cuz I haven't felt that FEAR come out in a while.. I feel like I have finally come to a point where I have matured strongly to conquer this fear that so disabled me to experience happiness. I no longer am controlled by IT but I control IT..
I write this blog because.. I've been seeing from the people around me that this same fear lingers in the midst of other human beings as well! All this time I've always thought that this world revolved around me until my eyes were opened to the realization that the world I live in contains other human beings! Fascinating.. I think this is one of the the most hardest emotion to deal with when it comes to not much being scared but more so being hurt like the first time you were hurt. To have to deal with that same instance again .. sometimes Fear is the only defense mechanism that'll prevent that pain to happen again.. but then with that mechanism also comes the chance of missing out on something that might be the greatest thing that happened in life! but a person will never know because of this FEAR!.. but then again.. what do I know.. all I know is what I see around me and what I see in myself.. it's amazing to me to write and think about stuff like this on a Saturday morning.. it's weird. I'm just here to help my readers find happiness in their lives, as well as mine.. MAKEs life happier..
Random Fact for the Day:
The common denominator in most acts of hatred is fear, usually fear of different types of people or ideas..

COACHELLA 2009

For those of you that are into the MUSIC & ARTS .. this one's for you..
the line up has come out for Coachella 2009. I'm really hoping to be able to attend all 3 but if not atleast Saturdays. I've been finding alot of joy thru music lately. There are those who just cannot live without music and I admire that because what the artist is trying to portray thru their music could totally relate to the listener in such a different way. It's amazing how 2 total strangers could relate and come together thru something as simple as MUSIC. Just listening to the tunes, beats, lyrics could bring about so many emotions. It would change a persons mood from SAD to happy or even vice-versa. Music could save a life. Music could turn a gloomy day bright. Maybe it's a neuro or psychological thing. Where the tunes of the music touches a certain nerve to kinder some emotions or past memories, maybe? Wow, that's too deep a thought for me. Maybe i'll get into it later on. For now, blog point being: be a little selfish, DO WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY, and if you're happy, other people will be happy as well.. even if it's listening to music! ENJOY!

Ethos Water

http://www.ethoswater.com/
There's just something about this water that intrigues me. Maybe it's the cool bottle shape or the refreshing taste of the water. But it's like DELICIOUS! yes, i know it's hard to imagine water as delicious cuz it's not really a taste but.. trust.. it really is.. and it's nice to know that "i'm helping children get clean water" .. it's nice!
They're mission:
"We began with the simple idea: "Let's create a bottled water to helpchildren around the world get clean water." We felt compelled to make a difference, because more than 1 billion people lack clean water access, and the problem affects children most. Ethos Water donates 5 CENTS for every bottle sold toward humanitarian water programs. Our current goal is to invest $10MILLION in these programs by 2010. Already, we're helping children and their comunities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Thank you for joining us in our efforts."

Being Thankful

In this world of consumption.. it's very easy to forget the little things in life to be thankful for.. Not too long ago I received an email from a friend (with these pictures) that encouraged me but at the same time brought me to tears because even I, myself, forget how abundantly BLESSED I am.. always fighting over the urge of what I need against what I want.. this post is merely to remind you and myself as well, to always remember how richly blessed we are... that on the daily, we should be thankful for the little things in life... like friendships, a free smile, a hug from your dog, a nice warm shower, a scrumptious home cooked meal, a job, a school to further your education, a car to drive, music technology to blast music, a cellphone to BBM with, whatever it may be..
L.O.V.E.... ?
Slow down for three minutes to read this.
It is so worth it. Touching words from the mouth of babes.
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds,
'What does love mean?'
The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined
See what you think:
'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
Rebecca- age 8
'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
Billy - age 4
'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
Karl - age 5
'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
Chrissy - age 6
'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
Terri - age 4
'Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
Danny - age 7
'Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss'
Emily - age 8
'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.'
Bobby - age 7
'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
Nikka - age 6
'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
Noelle - age 7
'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
Tommy - age 6
'During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore.'
Cindy - age 8
'My mommy loves me more than anybody You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
Clare - age 6
'Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
Elaine-age 5
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
Chris - age 7
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.'
Mary Ann - age 4
'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
Lauren - age 4
'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.'
Karen - age 7
'Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross.'
Mark - age 6
'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
Jessica - age 8
And the final one The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, 'Nothing, I just helped him cry'
When there is nothing left but God, that is when you find out that God is all you need.
Dear God, Bless all my friends in whatever it is that You know they may be needing this day! And may their life be full of Your peace, prosperity and power as he/she seeks to have a closer relationship with You.
Amen.

Epiphany
THE PAST IS THE PAST.
DONT LET IT RUIN YOUR FUTURE..
As my days go by i'm seeing that I rekindle alot of my past. I think back to the bad times when I used to be sad & super depressed. When I used to have the self-confidence the size of a piece of sand. When life used to be hardest that every day was such a drainer. When I used to wanna just DIE instead of LIVE. BUT I've realized. Why do i do that? As i thought back today I've come to this EPIPHANY that ..
Only God knows the future.. All I know, is that the past remains in the past. I can't change it or get time back. I don't got one of those transporting devices where I can turn back time. It only remains behind me now.. ONLY A MEMORY... so why let it ruin my present or my future.. The present is all that matters to me now. This is all i know of. So don't work so much at "FIXING" the past or letting the past become the present but FOCUS on working on the present and building a future and just simply.. BEING HAPPY..
Happy:
–adjective
delighted, pleased, or glad, as over a particular thing: to be happy.
Happiness: such a simple emotion yet an emotion that is so hard to value at times. Why is it that it's so much easier to seek for what makes you sad or jealous or mad, instead of seeking and searching for things that make you happy? Happiness can come in different terms like being joyous or delighted or finding pleasure in the simplest things such as someone giving you a smile or a hug. Some find happiness thru giving & some find it thru doing what they enjoy doing best like climbing Mount Everest and feeling accomplished but that's another blog in and of itself. So basically..
That is what life is allll about..
going day to day making memories, having no regrets and finding hope for a bright and successful future.
